Lecturer in Film Studies
The Film Studies program in Interdisciplinary Critical Studies in the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M University invites applications for a nine-month appointment at the rank of Lecturer. The position is 100% teaching with a standard load of 4/4. The successful candidate is expected to teach film undergraduate courses, which may be at the introductory or advanced level, including Film History, Film Analysis, and courses that reflect different genres of film. The successful candidate will also hold film screenings for students in Film History and/or Film Analysis when these courses are taught. The successful candidate will also have to meet core curriculum and other university requirements on relevant courses.
The Film Studies program focuses on the history, criticism, and theory of film in contrast to technical, production, or vocational coursework. The Film Studies program particularly focuses on artistic, cultural, and intellectual importance of film. At the undergraduate level, the Film program offers a minor and several core curriculum courses.
