RTF Grad produced Comedy premiering in ATX Film Society Cinema
February 7, 2019
I’m Christina Parrish, an Austin-based comedian and filmmaker (A Guide to Austin Stand-Up: Comics, The Austin Chronicle). More importantly, I made a movie with a bunch of others like me!...But, the movie happens to be a comedy about incest...also, a woman wrote it. (Hi, I'm that said weird "woman".)
Christine Lee from AFS suggested that I reach out to you about my feature film, Call Me Brother, an Austin-shot, Austin-produced indie about a brother and sister who fall in love starring myself alongside Andrew Dismukes (Saturday Night Live) with director David Howe (UT RTF 2012)and producer David Bukstein (UT RTF 2016). We are thrilled to have our Texas premiere at the Austin Film Society Cinema on February 17th after touring the festival circuit last year, including the Florida Film Festival, Chain Film Fest, Charlotte Film Fest and Arizona Underground where we won awards for Best Narrative Feature, Best Ensemble, Best Director, and Outstanding Performance by myself and Andrew.
Call Me Brother is an on and off-beat, female-written (and produced) incest comedy starring a cast of very funny people making this dangerous territory, funny - so I hope you’ll check our trailer HERE and our press release (attached) if this happens to fit for a write up in The Cage Newsletter.
