Cine Las Americas International Film Festival/Hecho en Tejas Program - Discounted Entry Fee
January 30, 2019
Hello UT Austin!
As this year's Guest Curator for the Cine Las Americas Hecho en Tejas program, I'd like to extend a special invitation to UT alumni to answer the call for entries. Alumni receive a discounted price of 50% off when they use the discount code CLAIFF22UTRTFALUM in FilmFreeway to submit their films before the late deadline, February 8th.
The festival's general program features Ibero-American cinema and American Indigenous films, and our Hecho en Tejas program features the work of Texas-based Latinx and Native American filmmakers (the work may be related to any topic), as well as that of Texas-based filmmakers of any background, who have produced films by or about Latinxs or Indigenous peoples of the Americas. We seek films, videos, music videos, and VR 360º videos by filmmakers of all ages, which may be programmed in the regular program or Hecho en Tejas.
For the 10th consecutive year, Cine Las Americas is partnering with the Texas Archive of the Moving Image for a Jury Award for the Best Made in Texas film. The audience also votes for Best Hecho en Tejas film. Both honors are accompanied by a $250USD award.
I would love to see the UT community represent Texas filmmaking at its best and the late deadline is just under two weeks away. Feel free to email any questions to me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or you can reach out to email@example.com, as well. See the call for submissions below and don't delay. Submit your entry today! I look forward to receiving your submissions, soon.
