Robert F Kennedy Human Rights invites you to take part in the Tribeca Film Festival

I’m reaching out to you on behalf of Robert F Kennedy Human Rights. We’ve partnered
and Tribeca Film Festival
to host our annual Speak Truth To Power video contest. We’ve extended our deadline to
as we’re seeking more diverse works from students that promote human rights and social change. We’d love if you could spread the word to current and former student filmmakers in your network.
The Speak Truth to Power video contest is a compelling way to celebrate a human
rights defender while raising awareness around a human rights issue. Winners will have their videos screened at the
Tribeca Film Festival on April 24th.

To enter the contest, filmmakers will need to create a 1-3 minute video
about a human rights defender that has impacted their life. Previous work created on the subject will also be considered. This defender can be a figure in their local community, a national defender who has worked on an issue of importance to them, a defender
from our Speak Truth to Power curriculum, or Robert F. Kennedy himself.
The format is open to documentary, stop motion, narrative, digital photo
essay, PSA or other innovative explorations that involve filmmaking components.
The Grand Prize winner will win:
to New York City for the Tribeca Film Festival where their video will be screened at the Speak Truth to Power Video Contest event
to participate in an event with human rights defenders and celebrities
posted on our partner site, Global Citizen
release announcing the winner
on an international scale across our programs and partners
The two runner-ups will win:
for their videos to be screened at the Tribeca Film Festival at the Speak Truth to Power Video Contest event
in our post-contest newsletter and press outreach
