Round Rock Honey is a leading producer of heirloom-quality Texas honey and the largest provider of beginning beekeeping classes in the USA. Media outlets including the New York Times, National Geographic, BBC, PBS have filmed in Round Rock Honey apiaries, which has led to many opportunities for work for past interns.
What We’re Looking for in an Intern
Round Rock Honey is seeking to make a short film to follow up “The Honeymaker”, created by UT grads Pearce Murphy and Cameron Davison in 2014. Successful candidate will be self-motivated, highly-creative & detail-oriented. All applicants must possess a positive attitude and professional demeanor, be organized and have a high level of familiarity with all aspects of film-making.
The intern will be responsible for creating an 8-minute film about the day-to-day operations of Round Rock Honey. Intern will have the opportunity to work directly with our bees and beekeepers, customers, and commercial clients. Internship time will be split between time at Round Rock Honey headquarters in Round Rock, farmers markets and grocers who sell Round Rock Honey, and our bee yards spread across Central Texas. This is a paid internship. Compensation negotiable. Having a car or mode of transportation is necessary, as is travel to Round Rock 1-2 days each week for filming.
