Dear Professor Stekler
The South Texas International Film Festival is now in its third consecutive year. The Festival strives to showcase the work of visionary filmmakers from around the nation and the world. Based in Edinburg, Texas, STXIFF showcases regional, national and international films that have a unique voice and style. We strive to bring together local filmmakers and artists to help connect the South Texas film industry with the world.
This year we are excited that various student film makers across the country are submitting their films, so we decided to open up a Student Film category and we would like to invite film makers to submit their films to our festival. As the Spring Semester comes to a close, we would like your young film makers to submit their works and compete for the inaugural Student Film Award, students must submit as individuals and can choose to participate in any category available but we do want them to denote that it is a student film.
The South Texas International Film Festival accepts regional, national and international films at www.withoutabox.com please submit your films for a chance to be recognized at the 3rd Annual South Texas International Film Festival Awards Reception to be held September 9, 2017. Our submission deadline has been extended to June 16th to give students time to submit their films for fast access visit www.stxff.us/submissions
Submissions proceeds will go towards offsetting costs of the festival to continue STXIFF’s efforts in promoting and supporting the film industry in the Rio Grande Valley, as well as Edinburg Arts endeavors to promote art & culture in our region in an effort to spur economic growth. There is also a fee waiver request option in case of extreme need.
The South Texas International Film Festival is hosted by the Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library and the City of Edinburg. For any additional information, please contact me at 956-330-1458 or at email@example.com
