Witnessing Change Video Competition
January 25, 2017
Now that school is starting up again, I wanted to let you know that the Witnessing Change Video Competition has extended the closing deadline to May 1, 2017.
With climate denial once again policy at the highest levels of government, and the narrative becoming increasingly divided along class and race lines, we feel it is particularly important to share stories across the country showing how all Americans are being affected--be they urban, rural, wealthy, disadvantaged, of color, or white.
Students document social and financial impacts already happening in their communities through interviewing impacted individuals and creating two-minute personal vignettes. Prizes are $250 and $500. Winners also have the possibility of receiving national recognition for their work through environmental organizations and universities working with the Climate Cost Project through their new and social media platforms.
