Panda Bear Films Interns Wanted

Panda Bear Films is a documentary production company based in Austin, led by Emmy-winning director and producer Chelsea Hernandez. Currently, PBF is in production on a feature documentary entitled Building The American Dream, following the lives of undocumented construction workers in Texas, exposing the exploitations in the industry and documenting their battles for equal rights. The film is supported by the Ford Foundation, Austin Film Society, Firelight Media, Latino Media Market and was the winner of Seed & Spark’s Untold Story Contest with Project Greenlight and was announced in IndieWire (goo.gl/bjzWOU).
We are seeking 2-3 part-time interns who are interested in learning the process of finishing a feature documentary and looking to gain experience in the post-production field. This is your chance to be part of a collaborative team, and contribute your talent to a documentary project that will be screened internationally, on television and possibly theatrically. You will be working closely with experienced editors to help research, translate and assistant edit, with potential to accompany crew on production shoots.
Responsibilites May Include:
Translating Spanish language transcripts to English
Assisting editors in syncing and organizing footage and audio files, pulling video selects, subtitling scenes and interviews, and finding and pulling archive videos
Collaborating on research relating to the film’s issues and its outreach and engagement plan
Contributing to online web content via social media, email lists, and website.
Must have basic knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.
Must be able to communicate with a team in collaborating and exchanging ideas.
Other software knowledge encouraged, but not required: Photoshop, After Effects, and Plural Eyes.
Spanish-speakers are encouraged to apply.
Must be available for 10-15 hours a week, with each shift at least 4 hours.
Flexible in working some shifts from home, but must be available to work at least once a week from the Panda Bear Films office located at 4704 E Cesar Chavez St.
