Visions 007 Undergraduate Film Festival and Conference
October 28, 2016
Visions 007, the only joint film festival and conference run by undergraduate students for undergraduate students, will take place on March 31st, 2017 at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Why You Should Submit to Visions:
· UNDERGRADUATES ONLY - Visions is an event dedicated to uniting a community of Undergraduate Filmmakers and Scholars by providing a supportive environment to showcase their work through scholarly presentations, industry panels and diverse screenings. Visions strives to encourage undergraduates to present their work without the pressure of feeling inexperienced when compared to seasoned festival screeners.
· PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE - By providing travel assistance to nearly 75% of our presenters, Visions provides undergraduates with experience in a professional festival and conference atmosphere. Our one-day event includes screenings, conference blocks, Q&A panels with filmmakers and scholars, and a 1 Hour/1 Take Video Race, all of which foster networking opportunities with attending guests leading to valuable peer connections. In addition, we host a Visionary Panel and Keynote Address, which allows undergraduate students to network with filmmakers and scholars already established in the industry.
Visions 007 is dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the ingenuity of student work. Only submissions from undergraduate filmmakers and scholars are taken into consideration. Short films of all genres (including Animation, Documentary, Experimental, Narrative, Art Installation and Music Video) as well as a variety of scholarly articles related to film and media studies, are encouraged for submission.
