Documentary Filmmaking Opportunity
August 31, 2016
I would think a documentary is what would work. My idea is basically to compare two situations and make them as close to a real life event that has or may take place. I want to get across the similarity to that of a young mother who takes her new born baby and puts in a trash can in order to get rid of it to that of a young mother who elects partial birth abortion. In the first case, the mother who abandons her baby, if caught, gets prison time. However, in same situation it is legal to have a partial birth abortion. Problem is, the baby is at the same stage in life in both cases. I am not looking for any financial gain out of this just a way to get the word out in a way that can be shown as vivid as possible in the depiction of the two events. I do not think this has ever been done. Thank you for sharing this with any student who may be interested in producing this film.
I grew up in La Grange, TX. Graduated from La Grange High in 1969. Graduated from UT Austin in December, 1972. Married to my wife Sandra. We will celebrate our 43rd anniversary in November. I am a retired banker, having worked for a local bank for over 28 years. After college I worked for the State Treasury in Austin working for Jesse James and Warren Harding. My role in preparing the documentary would be to see that the film or whatever would be 100% truthful. I would like to see real life stories involved in the documentary. I am sure there is some young lady in prison or jail right now that would tell her story. Unfortunately we would not have to go far to get real facts relating to partial birth abortions. I am a Catholic and have been all my life. What I cannot understand is how anyone can think that taking the life of a child is the thing to do just to appease their lifestyle. There are so many families who are looking to adopt. What I would want out of this is to show the film to legislators and perhaps judges to see what they would say after this comparison is made. Be happy to visit with you or anyone else on this matter. Thanks.
