Seeking Video Producer and Editor

Are you a student looking to grow your professional and academic portfolio? Do you have a background in filmmaking, video production, or public policy/health care, and want to learn how to create media products for a statewide advocacy campaign? Texas Nurse Practitioners is seeking a student video producer/editor to work on a three-month advocacy video project during the Spring of 2016. Compensation is $1,500 plus internship or acedemic credit.
-Create a ten-minute video for a health care access campaign for Nurse Practitioners (see sample video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7akZti4aU4) -Collaborate with the Associate Director of Public Affairs to execute the creative process for the entire production lifecycle of the video, from concept development through post-production and web distribution. -Work with the Associate Director of Public Affairs to schedule and record in-person interviews with legislators, nurse practitioners, and health care experts.
-Video production experience, all aspects. -Must be knowledgeable with operating HD video cameras, lighting for interviews, and recording location sound. -Must demonstrate in-depth, working knowledge of industry standard video production technology, including hardware and software. -Proficient with Apple Mac hardware and OS X software. -Understanding of video production workflow from pre-production through post-production and web distribution. -Proficient with professional NLE software: Final Cut Pro X and Adobe Premiere Pro. -Undergraduate or graduate coursework in communications, journalism, film/video production, or public policy preferred. -Professional communications or digital media experience in healthcare, political campaigns, or policy related field desired.
