Chicago International Children's Film Festival
February 4, 2016
Now in its 33nd year, the Chicago International Children's Film Festival is the oldest and largest children's film festival in the US. It was also the world's first Academy Award qualifying children's film festival. The Festival is adjudicated by three juries: an adult jury, a youth jury, and a children's jury.
In 2015, 244 films from 42 countries screened for approximately 23,000 children, parents, and teachers and 100 filmmakers. Films screened at seven venues throughout the Chicago area. The Festival spans dynamic and participatory programs for children and youth as well as professional development opportunities for filmmakers and attendees.
The Festival advocates inspired, innovative programming for young people. We are seeking humanistic, culturally diverse, and compelling films that reveal the world in new ways and leave room for the child's own imaginative response.
