Film Internship Program, Colombia 2016
December 1, 2015
Our Film Internship program will run in Bogota, Colombia in summer 2016. Applicants should be ambitious, enthusiastic and keen to develop practical and technical production skills through hands-on work experience. Interns can expect to be working on high-profile projects: for example, they could be placed with Dynamo (who produce Narcos), Screen Colombia (The Discovery Channel’s Naked and Afraid), or 64A Films (the hugely successful telenovela El Patron del Mal). Spoken Spanish is desirable but not essential.
What roles are available?
Our Internships cover a range of specialisms, including production, camera, sound, lighting and animation, to sales and marketing, distribution or post-production. You can find the list of available jobs on our website.
It’s an exciting time for the Colombian film industry. Currently experiencing rapid growth and drawing international attention and investment, it offers ideal work experience opportunities. Backed by government initiatives, it continues to attract productions from big names such as FOX, National Geographic, and Netflix and our Internship program offers applicants the chance to be a part of it.
We organise the internships as a package that includes accommodation, a busy social calendar and networking events. The program will launch with a networking event at Proimagenes, the Colombian Film Commission, and participants will also be able to attend a series of prestigious lectures at Bogota Audiovisual Market, an internationally-renowned industry event.
Last year we hosted film students from various US and Canadian universities including Syracuse, NYU and Mount Royal. We have a short video that includes feedback from previous participants and you can also read intern reviews here and here.
