Mobile Film Festival: Act on Climate Change
September 10, 2015
I am pleased to announce the launch of the Mobile Film Festival: Act on Climate Change.
Each year we are proud to discover young directors thanks to a simple rule: 1 Mobile, 1 Minute, 1 Film. For 11 years the use of mobile phones have served as a perfect mean to erase all kind of economic ties. As for the minute format, it imposes a strong storytelling.
Thanks to our partnership with the United Nations as part of the conference on climate change (COP 21), that will be held in Paris this December, the new edition of Mobile Film Festival is growing and going international. The rule remains the same but for the first time there is a theme: ACT ON CLIMATE CHANGE.
Participation in Mobile Film Festival: Act on Climate Change is the best way for young directors to show the world their views and feelings about Climate Change and sustainable development, expressing themselves through a strong storytelling.
The Grand Prize winner will receive a 30 000 € BNP Paribas Grant as well as the help of an experienced producer to shoot a film in 2016. For the last 4 editions the final budgets of the winner’s short film have raised up to 60 000 € and even 185 000 €.
Here is an English newsletter to present our Festival in HTML and JPG formats. I would be grateful if you could share it with your students and invite them to participate to the 11th edition of Mobile Film Festival: Act on Climate Change. To make the sharing easier, I kindly invite you to use the HTML format which is easily embeddable in your mailing tool.
2 video trailers video 1 and video 2 are available on YouTube and on our Facebook page. We are also very active on Twitter (@MobileFilmFest, #MFF).
Lastly, the Brazilian director Fernando Meirelles who will be part of our International jury kindly invites filmmakers from all over the world to participle and create to act on climate change :https://youtu.be/yzQ2elLebFE
I sincerely hope that your students will participate in this 11th edition. Please let me know your thoughts about it.
Please be aware that the submission deadline is September 28th!
